Brian Palmer, Manager of the Multimedia Production Center (MPC), has been with Washington College since 2005.  Of the programs he has developed through the MPC, several of them focus on photography, including the Filmmaking and Photography Boot Camp and the Photography Marathon. It wasn’t until after graduation that he began receiving any formal training in the visual arts.

It was on this trip that Brian became good friends with Rick Loomis, a photojournalist with the LA Times, who has had a lasting influence in him.  After this immersive, photography rich trip, he was hooked, and he has been continuing to learn and explore visual arts ever since.

Best advice for new photographers: Shoot something every day.  It’s easiest to progress as a photographer if you always approach the world as if looking to capture an image.  Don’t worry about having the latest gear, but rather learn to fully utilize the gear you have.
